[personal profile] muck_a_luck posting in [community profile] exercise_every_day
Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Feeling good! Done half an hour of aerobic and muscle exercises on the Wii Fit. Later I'll bring it up to a full hour with yoga and balance.

Just yoga, today. Maybe a walk, later, to try and figure out a good running route around here.

I'm finally getting over the ridiculously bad cold I've had so it's been forty wall pushups today. It's been the first time since last wed that I've managed anything at all so I'm happyish with it.

Day 17 and Still Going.

I just finished my 3rd day of the 30 Day Shred and I'm waiting for a conference call before I go and run.

I'm going to try and kick it up a notch until Sunday. See what happens.

Morning yoga, then tanked myself up on Nurofen Cold & Flu and went climbing for the sake of my mental health; I kept it fairly low-key but got in a good two hours and felt much better.

And I inadvertently shocked the climbing wall staff by doing Pigeon pose with the back leg bent up as part of my post-climbing stretches; I heard "[Realname], What. Are. You. Doing?" and turned round to see them all gawping and exclaiming over how anyone could be that flexible.

I told them that really hardcore people did Royal Pigeon, and described it; they were even more appalled.

Climber boys can be very easy to shock. *g*

Ahahaha! I guess so! :D

It's sort of adorable, really.

I am imagining you climbing under the influence of Nyquil...

*snerks* Nah, Nurofen C&F doesn't have antihistamines or anything sedating in it.

It turns out pseudoephedrine doesn't do great things for my tremor, though (who'da thunk?). Which would have been annoying if I'd been pushing myself on anything, but I wasn't.

Light stretches and walking. Going to try skipping later. I'm in unholy pain from my first workout in years (yesterday).

Seeing trainer again tomorrow. Oh, God. Do not want... but want to stop hurting myself trying to clean the house. So. Yeah.

Yeah, I'll be letting him know that the soreness is a leetle too much. We'll do something about it tomorrow. We're just getting to know each other and most trainers aren't used to dealing with someone quite as disastrously out of shape as I am.

A hot bath with a handful of Epsom salts in it is often helpful for me when I'm aching and/or stiff.

And yeah, what [personal profile] muck_a_luck said. Don't be afraid to back off while your body adjusts.

FWIW, the delayed onset muscle soreness is usually much much worse when you first start a new exercise activity, and then things settle down quite rapidly.

But go easy on yourself tomorrow. Let the trainer know if you're still hurting. It might be a time to work on form and learning new things, rather than pushing yourself to the limit.

Thanks. :) I'll try a bath when there's someone here to help me to get out! XFM (how I refer to my trainer) did a good job not injuring any of my old injuries, I think he just underestimated how out of shape I am. We'll do something else tomorrow. *g* I'm barely two years out from not being able to reliably walk to the bathroom, due to chronic pain. It's been a slow road back.

about a minute into the last circuit of 30 Day Shred I had to quit and take it easy. my knee was really bothering me and I didn't want to injure it further. going to do yoga tomorrow instead of bouncing around, and c25k training is off the menu for the rest of the week.

lol! I'm going to do my Baron Baptiste yoga tomorrow, which usually makes me sweat a lot. I'll definitely get a workout!

Went on my usual run; I like the feeling of getting better at running uphill. No playing with weights today - my back is complaining and I'm not sure why.

45 minutes on an exercise bike while simultaneously trying to read my homework. It worked better than elliptical and homework, but not well.

Lunch workout was derailed by Sister-in-Law asking me out to lunch. Was glad to get to see her, but missed the run. So, some home-practice yoga, followed by my Pull Up Test.

Didn't meet the exit criteria to start the next level, so I'll repeat week 3 of JV level, as specified in The Plan.
