Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Yoga and pushups, today! Nothing too strenuous -- I might be coming down with flu -- but I got moving, at least.

Morning yoga, then two hours climbing -- which was actually a certain amount of climbing and a lot of faffing about chatting to people.

Still had lots of spare energy to burn, so I decided to see if I could walk home from the climbing wall, as I haven't done a really long walk in ages.

(This may seem less masochistic if I mention that I've done segments of the route before and IMHO it's one of the best walks in London.)

It took two and a half hours. Now I'm properly tired.

I've been working my way through my two favorite go-to DVD's, Barbara Benagh's Yoga for Beginners and Power Yoga for Every Body, and as of today I've completed all of the intermediate-level sets on each dvd. Go me!

Self check:

1. I'm still not there on the balance poses, but thanks to Rodney Yee and Brian Kest and their emphasis on balance work, I'm seeing steady improvement.

2. I can, I can, do side plank on each side; I just can't do it as lingeringly as Benagh wants me to. But I can do it1

3. Pendant pose? Nope, not there yet, not even close.

4. Crane pose? Bit by bit by tiny, tiny bit. As Benagh reminds me: "A long road. Savor the journey."

I'm not at full health, but my body didn't want to sit around doing hardly anything any longer so I went for a run. Before I had to take a break, I'd finished c25k w6d1. I was going to follow the rest of the program but didn't have it around so I just did a 23 minute run at a slow pace so that my body didn't have to use all its resources. I did about 3 km, plus a 2 km walk there and back for cool down / warm up. Definitely glad to get out & moving again, can't wait to be fully fit so I can get back on track with the rest.

Ran 2.2 miles. Well, ran/walked. This was the last day of my "run everyday for 2.2 miles for a week" plan and I think my knees need a break... XD
