Handstand work. Shoulder openers. SO CLOSE on the Handstand. I think it is more a matter of confidence now than ability. I'm guessing if I can do the prep work every day for a week, I'll get it. Maybe even sooner. It's all I can do to not rush back over to the wall and try again RIGHT NOW. Maybe this afternoon, if I get dull and sleepy I can use that as an excuse.

If you can control yourself enough to come down, you'll be fine. Personally, I work out what exactly is the worst that could happen, see if that is reasonable or could be mitigated, and go from there.

From what you've posted about other asanas you can do, you've got the strength and the flexibility; it's just that last little psychological step of being able to kick up.

I'm betting you're going to get it SOON.

This is why it helped me enormously to put a cushion against the wall/door at first. *g*

(Sofa cushions are large and resilient and very suitable for this purpose.)
