I've not been great about checking in here - pre lockdown my exercise regime was pretty good even though I was battling osteoarthritis in my knees. I had a lovely PT and trained 3-4 times a week with him and got a fair bit of exercise otherwise.

Lockdown in March 2020 and the joys of 2 years of COVID brought an end to all that. My PT moved (and since 2022 focuses on his other employed in a swanky health club not the local gym *sadface*) and I spent most of lockdown sitting on my couch when not pootling around on my allotment.

My waistline has expanded, my cardio fitness sucks though I have managed to retain a decent amount of strength. So I need to get back to basics - lots of stretching to help with a couple of years of inactivity and the arthritis, some yoga and pilates based classes/routines (my balance is shot too) and get to grips with cardio.

My daytime job as a manager of allotment sites means I spend a lot of late spring/summer/autumn outdoors trotting round sites talking to people and doing inspections. It's brutally obvious when the 80 and 90 year old site reps are sprinting ahead of me that I need to do something to get my fitness back. *G*

Starting Friday I am back in the gym and I aim to check in here regularly even if all I'm posting is did a workout today!

During Covid Times, I did a fair amount of working out and dropped 12 pounds and mostly kept it off.

But between a new back injury and a month of accidentally eating gluten almost every day, I'm now 200 pounds. (Caused a major autoimmune flare, which, those make you hungry all damn day, even though you ache so badly you can hardly move.)

Also, my summer work schedule isn't so great for getting in the morning workout.

That said, for the past 3 weeks, I've done PT exercises more days than not, and gotten in two brisk 15 to 20 minute walks on my lunch and break.

I'm starting to feel much more like my old self again; at the end of those walks I'm not in debilitating pain.
