6.5 miles

Week 5 of my half-marathon training was a long run of 6.5 miles at a 30:60 second run/walk ratio.

It was a pretty good run, although I was kind of tired - got up at 6 am to get to the park before it got too hot, and didn't get enough sleep, but I managed to keep my pace up anyway, averaging just over 16-minute miles, which is a good time for me. My neck and shoulders got a bit sore, which means I was leaning forward too much, so I'll have to pay more attention to my posture when I run, and try to stay upright. Other than that, I was fine.

Training is proceeding on schedule!

Okay, today was ab day and I did 8 minutes of core yoga and 28 minutes of an ab aerobic workout. Then I did my ST which was just a gazillion different kinds of crunches. I really really felt the burn today.

But THEN. I went for my usual c25k run and this time I actually got through all 8 intervals of w1d1. After FOUR weeks of trying, I finally did it.

\o/\o/\o/\o/

My secret (besides sheer bloodymindedness) was My Chemical Romance on the iPod and 8 pennies in my pocket. After every interval I tossed a penny out into the ditch and tried with all I had to get rid of all the pennies. And I DID.

OMG, I am so proud of myself, you guys. :DDDDDDDDD

I've already done two check-ins, but I thought I'd do a short introductory post in case you see me around. :)
