Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Morning yoga, two hours climbing -- I started out thinking I'd keep it low-key and just play around, as I'm still fighting off a cold, but I ended up doing one V4 and making progress on another. And apparently a spin round the traverse wall a few times gets me warmed-up enough to do full hanumanasana as a cool-down stretch. So, yay! Now I am endorphinated and happy.

Actually, this time I was doing my cooldown at the same time as a a fellow yoga-doing climber girl. So it was in a spirit of solidarity! *g*

(She could drop back flat into supta virasana without blinking. I am impressed.)

Walked a quarter mile, according to my pedometer. Ten minutes. Ow my legs. *sulk*

Wow.

I didn't go into today's practice with high expectations at all - still feeling a bit sore in my thighs and arms from yesterdays Warrior Workout - but my body amazed me by translating "sore" into "wonderfully loose". Muscles released in ways they never had before, and, like Rydra, I was awash in a lovely stream of endorphins. *happy sigh* It was exactly the kind of practice I'd hoped to be at at these point in the 40 day cycle. Even if I don't manage to recapture that feeling again in the next four days, I can be happy knowing that achieved it at least this once. *happy sigh*

Back at it, after a holiday week off! I'd been doing mostly recumbent bike this summer, and I found to my CHAGRIN that I could no longer do a half hour rowing or on the elliptical. So, I am incorporating those thing back into my cardio. I like rowing, I just wish I could read while I did it. I'll have to content myself with audiobooks.

Weights are sort of holding. I think my rotator cuff is improving, so I am veeeerrrrrrrrry gingerly adding the bench presses and shoulder presses back into my workout. At significantly reduced weights and reps. But my leg strength is steadily improving.

My goal for last night was reached. I assembled my new stationary bike and rode it for 15 minutes. I listened to Norma Jean's "O God, the Aftermath" so it was a nicely intense session.

Went home on my lunch break and did the same session before returning to work. I hoped it would give me a little more energy this afternoon, but not really. But that's also probably because 15 minutes isn't enough to really give me a boost like early this year.

I'll probably do another 15 to 30 minutes tonight or at least that's today's goal. =)

Another hour+ of shovelling snow. The nasty wind's died off, so none tomorrow (*pretty please*). Did something nasty to right side elbow/shoulder/hip/knee.

I was about to say that I did nothing today but upon reflection I sorted and re-shelved my whole book collection, which is ... well, it's only one bookshelf technically but it's a DAMM BIG BOOKSHELF. Photo here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rickybuchanan/5152671581/in/photostream/

So yes, no actual technical "things in my physiotherapy routine" were done but I am doubleplus exhausted so I deemed this to be my day off.

Book-sorting is surprisingly strenuous, I've always found. I mean, it either involves a lot of repetitive motions moving books one at a time, or moving stacks of them at once, at which point they get heavy and awkward.

Did my second CrossFit Elements session today...another one of the classes you have to take in order to take the classes...then walked home the long way. My thighs are still amazingly sore, but they're slightly less amazingly sore than they were this morning.
