Hi, I'm new. *waves*
I do mostly strength training, some running, and am still looking for something energetic and fun to put that new strength and fitness into use, which will (ideally) do something for my coordination, too. Currently I'm trying Capoeira, but I might "shop around" a little more.
I also walk or bicycle daily, but that's more for getting from A to B than for exercise, but which I will probably count as exercise for purpose of logging it here.
My goals are mostly to be able to deal with daily life well -- be it running to catch a the bus, helping friends move, deal with a broken elevator or schlepping bags of cat litter. More exercise-focused, I want to be able to do a push-up before Spring, and increase my running speed over short distances (less than one kilometre).

Date: 2010-12-21 11:41 pm (UTC)honestly, I find it terrifying, too. I'm taking an intro class at reduced rates, and I find that it is perfect for my level of fitness and energy -- I never feel as happily exhausted and content as I do after class. However, I have a hard time keeping up when it comes to agility or coordination even in the intro class, and I wonder if I might not be a little old for it (I'm fortysomething). I enjoy the style a lot, and the local school is a very welcoming and comfortable place. On the down side, it's quite expensive. If I had two guaranteed free evenings a week, I would probably continue for a year, to see if I can make it work: I want to train that agility and coordination, and I find it a very playful way to increase fitness and strength. But with my schedule being as it is, I doubt I can make it :-/
