Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Abbreviated morning yoga (yes, I was running late again), then two hours twenty minutes climbing, including three sets of three continuous laps round the easy traverse. The traverse wall is my new friend.

Cat pose and sun salutations. Not trying triangle or warrior or anything else today because apparently I screwed up my shoulders helping roll tables around before the square dance last night. Joy. I thought the only thing I'd done to hurt myself last night was mash my fingers between two of said tables.

So I had finished today's session (perfect Warrior III's, woohoo) and let the dvd run a bit longer into that part where it's just music and clips of Rodney. There I made a shocking discovery: He doesn't come down on his pushups a whole lot lower than I do - in fact, our pushups are pretty much the same! He's nowhere near as low as Shiva Rea, or all those kids on the MTV Power Yoga dvd, or Brian Kest (he of the truly magnificent abs).

And here I was thinking all this time that this was another goal for me to strive for (although I know yoga isn't supposed to be about striving towards goals) and turns out, I'm pretty much already there. Certainly I'd like to, eventually, get way down there like Shiva Rea, but hey, today I was as good as Rodney Yee, and that's pretty gosh darn good.
