I want to do my Wii Fit exercises because I can do it in my living room, and I enjoy the way they are structured (they keep track of your weight, as well, and I find the program fun and silly good).
Any exercise I can talk myself into doing is better than nothing. Having a
step-counter and a target sometimes works. Sometimes I just manage a few
stretches, sometimes some bodyweight exercises, sometimes something more
energetic. I start with whatever I'm in the mood for, and have a few
options.
I have a decision tree. Workday, weather OK, got out of bed early: Bicycle to work. Workday, got out of bed barely in time: Go to the gym after work. Day off, friends have called that they'll go to the boulder hall: Go bouldering. Day off, outdoor pool open: Go to pool Day off, outdoor pool closed, weather fine: Go for a walk Day off, outdoor pool closed, weather bad: Go to the gym. Feel like hell/too tired to think/busy all day/dizzy spells: No exercise today.
Yesterday (14th) was "busy all day", and I didn't even do anything fun. :-/ I might have done 8K steps, but my counter is buggy.
I walked 4 miles yesterday (instead of 3 which is my goal - I managed 4.1 the day before too) which is pleasing. I need to find some exercises or something to stretch out my ankles and calves as I'm getting a fair bit of discomfort in both. I had hoped to have met a particular distance goal by the 23rd June but I lost two weeks to illness earlier in the year and there was a good period of less than walking weather so I'm currently on track to meet the goal by June 30th which isn't too bad. (I'm trying to complete the Walk To Mordor challenge over about 3 years and am currently between Lothlorien and Rauros - for those familiar with the challenge - I've got about 44 miles to go to get to Rauros)
Go you! I learnt basic calf stretches in school, and they're probably on YouTube, but I haven't come across many ankle ones, just the ankle rotation ones.
Do you have an app for Walk to Mordor or how do you track it? I've heard people mention it but haven't tried it.
