Hey, EED community!
Here is your daily check-in post! I hope it is not as hot where you are as it is where I am! (Not Hell... :D )
If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.
1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.
2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.
3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.
4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.
5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Date: 2010-07-25 01:08 pm (UTC)I just finished a nice 65 minute strength and flexibility yoga workout, my minimum goal for the day. Since it's so early, I'll probably get another short yoga or pilates session in later on.

Date: 2010-07-25 04:18 pm (UTC)Soooo ....
Date: 2010-07-25 10:42 pm (UTC)So I decided it was time for a Skience Experiment!!!
(I figured I needed a name for my random impulsive spasms of self-experimentation *g*.)
This thread here inspired me to see how many full push-ups I could accumulate over the course of the day, and whether I could make it to a total of 108.
(I did. Just. Ohgod I'm going to be feeling it tomorrow.)
It was all in sets of 5, and then 4s, and a final 3 to make it a neat 108, but it got done, finally. And it was way more than I'd previously thought I could do.
It'll be interesting to see if this kick-starts my attempts to get more consecutive reps in future.

Re: Soooo ....
Date: 2010-07-26 07:01 am (UTC)That's where I was last year. Except I could only do 10 (on a good day), not 15!
(In case it's of interest, I did a push-ups and pull-ups resources linkspam during 3W4DW -- there's some good discussion in the comments.)
Re: Soooo ....
Date: 2010-07-25 10:50 pm (UTC)And oh, yeah, you are most definitely going to feel it tomorrow. The first time I did the 108, I couldn't lift my arms for the next two days. Ow ow ow. But again, GOOD ON YOU.

Date: 2010-07-25 10:50 pm (UTC)After being so achy thursday and friday my muscles are now just feeling alive and active - it's a really good feeling.
Back to the gym tomorrow, and I'm actually looking forward to it. It'll be good to see whether I can do more than I managed last time, and how much less it hurts afterwards (I hope).
