Jul. 23rd, 2010 08:06 pmHi, I'm Ellie, and I'm trying to get into the habit of daily exercise because my choices are hurt because I didn't exercise and hurt because I did, and the latter seems somehow healthier. Also I can't walk a mile and a half without getting exhausted, and I don't like that. So what I want to be doing is cardio, flexibility, and strength. I've been doing half-mile or mile walks and some yoga and Pilates. See also, hot; see also, ow; see also, lazy.
Earlier this summer I did speak to someone on staff at the local gym about an exercise program, specifically resistance training to increase my upper body strength, and a very irregular exercise schedule has nonetheless produced a noticeable improvement. (Now I can start the damn lawnmower without asking for help!) You'd think that'd constitute incentive. So today's exercise, which the mere existence of this comm guilted me into, was a round of that. Ten reps of an assortment of exercises with a light resistance band, except for a medium band on the exercise that works my shoulders, plus a few pushups and squats. Ow.
