Hey everyone! I just wanted to remind folks that anyone can put up the daily check-in posts. I'm bringing this up because I happen to have been making posts of the posts lately, which I don't mind doing, but I'm going to be traveling this week, and likely won't be online everyday.

And some travel/exercise questions! Do you keep to your usual exercise routine when you travel, or mix it up with different activities? Any tips for staying active on vacation, or getting back into your usual routine after you get home?

It depends on what I have access to -- hotels often have gyms with dumbbells, so I can do a modified version of my barbell workouts when that happens. But if not, I've done bodyweight circuits with squats and pushups and planks which covers the basics of what I'd be doing with weights.

I mostly exercise by running (previously by walking), so I take along my shoes and gear and go out to look for a suitable route. At least that's the plan for my upcoming trip ... We'll see if I actually do it.

I use hotel gyms, I exercise in the room using the Nerd Fitness Angry Birds system, and I jog outside of the hotel if it's practical.

I don't do my home routines, but I do SOMETHING, a third of the days I am away.

When I travel I am usually so energetic and hyper that I spend the whole day walking, bicycling, climbing every tower in town that can be climbed. So I do not bother much with what I would have done if I had to squeeze exercise in some time slot on a work day. *G*
