Ran/walked 4 miles today, using a 30:60 second run/walk ratio (courtesy of my new sport watch, which has two interval timers that can be programmed to countdown different intervals).

Instead of running around the house, or up and down my uneven, hilly, rocky dirt road, I drove down out of the hills and parked by the mailboxes, then ran in town. In the past, I've measured out various roads all over town in my truck, so I already knew that running down Dennison to Valley is one mile, then Valley to Curry is one more mile, then turn around and come back for a neat 4-mile run. Finished in 1 hr 3 min total, which for me is a very good time, and felt good the whole way. Finished with crunches and stretches at home.

Since I've gotten enthused about running again, I've decided to start training for another half marathon. I thought about going for Long Beach on Oct 17, but decided that didn't really give me enough time to train, so I'm aiming for Las Vegas on December 5. Haven't worked out a training schedule yet, but will be increasing my mileage gradually until I'm up to 14 miles. (A half marathon is 13.1 miles.) So, ten miles to go!

Awesome! I've not been into running too much, but since I've lost some weight maybe I should think about it again.
