Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! I thank my children for having me up to do my yoga at 6:30 on a Saturday. Though I could have been thanking my cat for having me up to do my yoga at 5:00 on a Saturday, except when she tried that out on me, I put her in the bathroom and went back to bed. Alas, you can't lock your four-year-old in the bathroom, or they send some around to the house...

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

15 minute workout at the (ex)-gym when I went in to cancel my membership there. Alternated 1 1/2 minute brisk walk with 2 minute jogs. That was all the time I could spare in a fairly busy afternoon. 3500 steps recorded on my pedometer, but I didn't have it on during the morning grocery shopping trip.

Hey, I want to thank the comm for keeping stuff about food changes behind cuts. This is the first time I've participated in an exercise discussion with that rule, and I just want to say it's really really helpful to me. Thanks!

Ran and did some yoga this morning. Have discovered that my hamstrings are much less problematic if I spend some time in legs up the wall pose for a while before doing yoga. Will try and incorporate doing that into my day, because my forward bends were much better after doing it for only five minutes, last night...

Seriously! Previously, 5 full push-ups was my absolute limit. So the peer pressure has made a drastic difference!

About an hour of yoga, with 2 yoga journal podcasts (arms and backbends.) It's so much easier for me to focus in my yoga practice and keep going with a guiding voice.

I wish I could shut my early-morning cat in the bathroom! But she gets frantic when behind a closed door, so instead I let her roam about and yell at me while I wear earplugs.
