Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Did a little yoga and went for a short run. I'll probably do some more yoga later, because I'm stiffening up all over for some reason.

I just finished up a 45-minute "Good Morning Extended" sequence from Barbara Benagh's Power Yoga for Every Body. That's a bit less than I like to do on Yoga Thursday but I gave blood yesterday and am always a bit wobbly the next day.

No Yoga Thursdays for the next two weeks - temporary work schedule changes - so I'll have to figure out how to work around that. Huh.

Just now filling in my exercise log... I walked on Monday and Tuesday for an average of 50 min and am going to a 1-hour dance class this pm. Still making plans for the weekend.

Oh, yeah, and I have been doing qigong also.

I've found that sometimes when I'm just not feeling it, it helps to declare a rest day and then catch it up later in the week (on a previously-scheduled rest day).

Sometimes it's a sign I'm overdoing it (especially when I'm starting something new); sometimes it's the first sign that I'm coming down with a cold or other bug. Sometimes it's just one of those days.

So, yeah. Rest is good *g*.

I don't think I was in need of a rest, just some motivation. I decided to start my day over and pretend I had just woken up, then did 25 minutes of a new yoga video that had me sweating and feeling incredible. I'm ready to face the day now, even though it took me half a day to get here. ;)

Did a two-mile run/walk this morning. I got so enthused about running on Tuesday I decided to do it again today. Ran the first 1/3 - 1/2 of each lap and walked the rest. Followed up with the usual 10 min of crunches and stretching.

After one day of being too busy and one day of being too tired, dragged myself out of bed and through some PT with my tried and true no-coffee-till-you-do-your-exercises trick. It worked! Though I find myself doing one set of twenty instead of two sets of ten because the effort required to switch the weights to my other leg more than once pre-coffee escapes me. Hm.

Forgot to post yesterday! Because I was super tired--had handyman over for an hour and did too much (am supposed to be paying him to not have to to stuff myself, but am unable to keep hands off. Er, the chores, not the handyman, heh.) Went up and down long flight of stairs (10-foot ceilings) countless times, lifted, bent, pushed, hauled, carried. Too pooped to do anything else yesterday; flared today, but will stretch and try PT.
