Today's achievement was Stick-Your-Big-Toe-Out-in-Front-of-You Pose: fully extended while standing on my right foot (though a bit wobbly); extended to hold my right ankle, rather than my big toe while standing on my left foot. Yaes!
Recap for October Challenge:
I challenged myself to begin a 40 Days of Yoga practice, committing to at least 45 minutes a day, and was able to achieve this part of the challenge (and am continuing for another nine days). It turned out to be a much more empowering experience than I had imagined, with progress in strength and balance and most significantly, confidence. A second part of my October challenge was to ditch my weekly Hardee's biscuit habit. I was pretty much mostly successful, only caving in one time (I had just has blood work done, and needed breakfast before I went grocery shopping). And the biscuit wasn't even that good :) So that bad-habit broken is pretty much a win.
The third part was to pay more attention to my meditation practice, and this is where I was the least successful - I focused on finding time for the asana practice at the expense of time that could be devoted to meditation. So this part will be renewed for future challenges, until the daily meditation practice becomes just as second nature as the daily exercise practice.
