Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Workout in the basement:

Assisted inverse body weight rows
incline push-ups
prisoner squats
Hip raises
UNASSISTED PLANK for ten seconds.
Intervals on the recumbent bike.

Mostly a rest day -- I'm trying to take it easy over the next few days as I've overdone it doing non-exercise things and am somewhat wiped.

But I did some handstand work, and discovered that I can go back and forth between headstand against the wall and pincha mayurasana.

Yes, weights again, though not a full session. Took advantage of the split routine having rested my legs since Monday to test one-rep max on squat and power clean. Managed to squat 75% bodyweight, yay! This is still short of the strength standards according to Exrx.net for the amount of time I've been lifting, but at about six months I'm still in their Novice window, so I have another three months to hit 85% and be on track. (According to them. Gubernatrix puts a "good" squat at 125% bodyweight, though she does not suggest a time frame for how long it takes to get a good squat.)

Managed to power clean 71 lbs -- I don't know how my form is, but this is mostly exciting because of my make-shift squat rack. See, I rest the bar on the backs of stools which dip in a bit in the center, and the stools tip over if I put more than ten pounds on a side without balancing it. So if I want to use twenty-five pound plates, I can't put them on the bar while it is up without everything crashing to the ground. So I need to be able to lift the bar with two twenty-five pound plates already on them to the backs of the stools. The bar is a one-inch bar that weighs about sixteen pounds, so I need to be able to clean 66 lbs. And I can!

Stretchings, plus a 30 minute brisk walk conducted out of necessity. XD Wish I'd had time to get a run in as well.
