Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I had a very surprising attack of energy late-afternoon yesterday, so I went ahead and did the 108 pushups workout (which I usually do on Tuesdays) to get it out of the way.

This morning I did a 25-minute "Good Morning" yoga workout, and plan to do my usual Tuesday 20 minute ellipping session this evening. Good times.

I did some yoga this morning and tried running outside for the first time today. I can't even manage day one, week one of Couch to 5k! My legs were fine, but I had trouble with breathing and started feeling ill. I think I need to a) wait a little longer between breakfast and running and b) not try to do so much. Couch to 5k doesn't sound like much, particularly as I have already completed it with ease on an elliptical, but it seems that I need to work up to it even more slowly. I must learn to recognise that this is fine and okay; I won't do any better by exhausting myself and making myself feel ill.

I can't manage day one of C25K either. I'm working up to it by doing some intervals with my walking. I jog for 15-20 seconds (even managed 30 seconds today once) and walk for a minute or two. then try jogging again. I can only handle about 4-5 of the jogging bits before I feel like my lungs are going to explode. Maybe we can work up to it together!

I managed it with three rests, going veeeery slowly, but I'd rather keep moving slowly with lots of walks for fifteen minutes than that, you know? It was after four runs that I had the problem, so I'm probably going to make it Couch to 2.5k and just half the program for each day, until my body catches up.

Good luck with your stepping it up, too!

Walked to vote during my lunch break! It's unlikely I'll do anything else today since I'm working this evening, and wasn't smart enough to realize I shouldn't sleep in.

Morning yoga, then climbing time!

(Followed by dentist time, alas.)

Then in the evening, yoga podcasts: yoga for headaches and yoga for the menstrual cycle. The combination of hormones and headache-inducing weather has been doing a number on my brain in the last few days.

Just did my 20 minutes yoga before work today.
It's interesting, I am definitely noticing that I feel better when I do it - I hadn't thought about it but when I skipped it on monday I felt creaky and stiff all day. It's nice to feel that I am making progress.

After I'd had a consistent morning practice going for about a month, I skipped it one morning because I had to get out of the house really early and I figured I'd just do it later, and wow, I felt the difference.

I was surprised, I wasn't expecting it to make that much difference already - I haven't been doing it long. It's very motivating.

Tired my first Zumba class this morning. Was hella fun, hot and felt good afterwards. Not too tiring aftwerwards but we'll see how I feel tomorrow. Definitely planning on going back next week.

D'oh, I forgot! 15 min walk and PT, today--spent most of the day still freaking out and had to take extra heart meds, so didn't try to get to ambitious.
