[personal profile] muck_a_luck posting in [community profile] exercise_every_day
Discussion continues about comm policies here, but consensus of the commenters seems to be that a check-in post would be very helpful to many comm participants.

So here's today's post to check-in!

However, I would also like to strongly encourage people to post independently, as [personal profile] seleneheart and I did earlier today. Basically, use the check-in post or use your own individual post, whatever works best for you.

I'd also like to encourage people to introduce themselves if they are comfortable with that. Ramble as much as you like, but if you're going to be very long, please put the intro piece of your post behind a cut.

Especially, please place comments about weight, diet and nutrition behind the cut. (And just to emphasize, this community is about the exercise, not dieting! Those things are often interconnected, but in no way do you need to feel obligated to comment on anything related to anything except your daily exercise!)

ALSO! :D If you have goals in your exercise that you would like to post in the community, or accomplishments to mention as we move forward, I think that would be great, too! Since I'm hoping there will be a lot of posting (if we all post every day outside the check-in post that would be 13 (so far) posts every day), if you could do a free-standing daily report, with your other comments behind a cut to spare reading pages, that would be awesome.

I did 20 minutes of healing yoga and 10 minutes of kickboxing bootcamp (thank goodness for netflix and their selection of workouts!). Then later I did the advanced mat workout suggested by sparkpeople.com. I am loving that site, btw. It tracks nutrition and fitness, and is pretty awesome. :D

My energy is really high today and my mood and anxiety is much better since I started exercising every day.

There was one study where they found that exercise and Zoloft produced similar remission rates. Though IIRC that was for relatively mild depression. Some of us can't replace our meds with workouts, nice though that would be *g*.

I agree! I have a friend with neck, shoulder, and knee issues, and that might be something that would be useful for her.

I don't know how good it is compared to other programs, but I woke up this morning and could barely move thanks to the bursitis in my hip. After 20 minutes of the yoga though, I felt MUCH better. :D

I deal with chronic pain from Fibro and joint issues every day, so this sounds GREAT. I liked the comments people left in the reviews, too. I'm going to rent it this weekend, and, if I can handle the moves, I'll buy it. Thanks again!

Hiya!

Friday is normally the day I do my least amount of exercising, so that was done first thing this morning: 20 minutes on the elliptical machine followed by 5 minutes of stretches, forward-, and back-bends. I was thinking that since I had the afternoon off, I'd be able to get some pilates in later, but considering the HUGE lunch we just got back from, probably not.

So: yay Friday, Friday's goal met!

Oh, hey, are we tagging? Especially for later joiners, so they can find the posts that would be interesting to them? Intros, daily check-ins, round-ups, types of exercise, tips, etc.?

I went back to the gym today after my first session monday, despite my legs being so stiff I was walking funny. I was very pleased at how much better I felt once I started moving, I managed half an hour walking on the treadmill, 10 mins on the X trainer, and went on a few of the weight machines.
I'm hoping doing some yoga tomorrow will help with the aching.

REST DAY! (You knew that was coming.)

So, my morning yoga practice and that's it.

Apart from a walk carrying an unwieldy heavy weight, but that was getting the groceries back from the store, not planned exercise *g*.
