Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

26 minutes on the treadmill @ an average 2.5mph for a distance a hair over 1 mile.

Morning yoga, barbells. Mostly a short sharp squat-focused workout, but my wrist is letting me overhead squat again, which makes me happy, and I managed to military press 50% bodyweight. \o/

It was as strict as I could make it, standing. Made me very pleased, especially as it's one area where my progress has been erratic (one shoulder tends to de-stabilize and get cranky).

Now I just need to figure out a way to improve my bench press ...

Day two of the Nerd Fitness Rookie Workout. So:

2 set of 15 95lb deadlift
2 sets of 15 15 lb dumbbell shoulder press
2 sets of 10 split squats, each side, clinging to a wall for dear life because oh my god I cannot do these.
2 sets of 15 15 lb dumbbell row
2 sets of 8 bird dogs, each side
10 minutes of rowing

My *goodness*.

Today we had some core-oriented calisthenics.

Plank with one leg raised for 60 seconds x 2
Plank with one arm raised for 15 seconds x 2
Side plank with upper leg raised for 20 seconds x 2
Side plank with lower leg raised for 30 seconds x 2
Ordinary plank on hands with feet on the bouncy ball, maybe 45 seconds
Supine hip extension with feet on the bouncy ball for 60 seconds x 3
Push-ups with feet on the bouncy ball, 10 reps x 2
Supine hip extension with leg curl, feet on the bouncy ball, 10 reps x 2

And now I'm off to the movies. Ciao!

Riding lesson, managed 15 minutes of trotting before I got light-headed and had to stop. All the smoke that rolled in from the Minnesota forest fire has totally fucked my lungs. :(
