Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I cleaned all the MFing things!

Okay. not all the things, but I did the sort of vacuuming where you're moving furniture and stuff to clean. And swept and swiffered the master bathroom.

And now, I'm going to clean all my 2000 body parts because I sure worked up a sweat.

I'm visiting my parents for my Mom's birthday, so today's workout is an improvised, DIY kind of affair.

Skip rope x 100 (my jump rope is my only portable piece of workout equipment)

2 sets: 10 squats, 10 push-ups, 10 quarter rotations

20 walking lunges

Skip rope x 100

Karate-style loosening-up: rotate ankles, flex knees, rotate hips, swing shoulders, etc.

Per leg: 10 high front kicks (think the Rockettes, not Bruce Lee), 10 high side kicks, 10 high rear kicks.

10 sumo squats, 20 T-push-ups, leg-raised planks
10 sumo squats, 10 normal push-ups, arm-raised planks
10 sumo squats, 10 knuckle push-ups, hollow-body, superman, hollow-body, superman
20 stationary lunges, 10 diamond push-ups

(Now you can think Bruce Lee): 10 knee kicks, 10 front kicks, 10 roundhouse kicks, 10 side kicks, 10 back kicks

Skip rope x 100

Stretch

Then I noticed some cinder blocks in the backyard. 3 x 10 bent-over rows with a cinder block in each hand.

Fin.

(That looks like a lot written out that way, but it's all bodyweight and I think it took maybe 30 minutes.)

I was merch girl for a bout my league's traveling team was playing out of town, so I had to transport boxes of t-shirts to the civic center. Unfortunately, I forgot the dolly, so I ended up narrowing the merch down to two large boxes, stacking them, and carrying them to our designated table. But first I got lost and tried to go in the wrong entrance and had to drag them all the way back to my car. So, that was basically like an hour of weight lifting? MY ARMS HURT SO BAD TODAY.

I went to a free introductory yoga class and it was AMAZING. I had been holding off on trying this because every other time I've tried learning how to do anything complicated with my body while watching and listening to an instructor in the front of a class, I've ended up totally confused and frustrated. But somehow that didn't happen with yoga! I don't know if the instructor was extra good or if yoga is just easier for me than dancing or jiu jitsu, or if I was just doing everything completely wrong and not noticing it, but I'm going back. :D
