Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (or someone else) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

700 meters swimming (after 1000 yesterday). Note to self: if swimming on Sunday, go right after they open. Though the obstacle course style swimming I did was a great opportunity to test my new goggles. *g*

Morning yoga.

Walked to gym, found gym was inexplicably closed, walked back from gym, sulked.

Did one-legged squats onto a high box (one day, I will do a pistol -- one day!), Russian twists, and more TGUs. I can now TGU my heaviest kettlebell with 2kg extra weight strapped onto it, for reps.

I think I'm going to need a bigger kettlebell.

5 km bicycling, and NRoLfW stage 3, workout A, for the second time. I found the weights where 105 seconds of rest after six reps started to make sense. Still not even getting close on the planks and the body weight matrix, but getting ahead.

Hampered by a sprained ankle, so I did Level 1 of Shred It with Weights, modifying where I had to (lunges etc), and found I had to change surprisingly little. Felt good to move again after a week of not much activity.

Found a new method of practicing one legged squats which seems like one of those obvious things that I never thought of before. (You squat. Then you lift one leg off the ground. Put it down. Repeat on other side. Variations include standing back up after you've lifted one leg.) It also occurred to me to practice handstands by doing headstands first, and I discovered that a pillow and my box of weights is exactly the right height to support my head while my arms are extended pretty much all the way. Handstand with head support for the win!

If it's a goal for you (and it's a fine one), I did an epic handstand linkspam a while back.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that back when you posted that -- the video of handstands for dancers was amazing.
