Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Shoulder/back still sore, but only slightly, so did my Wednesday short weight routine anyway -- today was short sets of TGUs shoulder presses and a medium set of two-point rows all with the same weight so I didn't have to bother switching or getting out all of my plates. (The rows could have had more weight, which was why those sets were longer.)

Weights.

Bench press: 15kg dumbbells, 2 sets of 8 reps.
Rows: 22.5kg dumbbell, 10 reps; 25kg dumbbell, 10 reps.
Shoulder press: 12.5kg dumbbells, 2 sets of 5 reps.
Stability ball plank: 2 sets of 30 seconds (I've changed my technique, and it's now harder, so I have to shorten the time.)

Shoulders & Arms, tried slightly heavier weights today. My arms, they feel like Jello now.

I went minimalist and did TGUs. It's been a while since I did any -- I admit I've been cheating on them with my new love, overhead squats -- and I'm really chuffed by how much my strength and shoulder stability has improved.

I'm now confident going for serious reps with the 12kg bell, which is new, and considering the imminent need to strap another kg to it (the real use for those ankle weights!).

I also did a spot of light work on the bent press, which I am attempting to understand. One day, the two-hands anyhow* will be mine.

Pilates class at lunch. Our instructor was a bit sleep deprived and loopy, so we were doing some odd variations and laughing a lot.
