Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

3 sets of 10 burpees, 5 triceps push-ups, and 5 shoulder push-ups. (There was an extended rest period between set two and three where I moved the hanging pepper and tomato plants out from under the eves because it was finally finally raining this morning. Also, I needed the extended rest. The last few burpees were hard enough as it was; I don't know if I'd have managed to finish the set without that much rest.)

Shadow yoga class. AAAAAAHHH MY SHINS MY SHINS ARE BURNING.

(Shadow yoga can, er, "work the legs strongly". I believe that's the technical phraseology.)

I found a video of someone doing shadow yoga and at one point they basically sat in a 90 degree wide squat for a minute and half while moving their arms around. They may have taken a break from squating while they moved to a lunge on one side or the other.

Yeah, that'll work the legs all right.

Oh yes. There's a lot of stuff that's martial-arts derived, so you get to spend forever in horse stance and deep lunges and assorted other leg positions that cause mysterious burning muscle cramps in under 2 seconds.

My legs still feel funny. It was a good class.

Standard arms and abdominals.

Walked 1.25 miles on the treadmill at an average 2.5 mph. (And wonders of wonders, my knees weren't cussing at me every step of the way!)

Worked late, didn't feel like running, but finally just made it out for a long-ish walk. Desperately want a gin and tonic, but looking at my calorie budget makes me think twice. :-(
