Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

This week has been a difficult one for me emotionally. Today was the only day I made it to the gym. I'm proud of myself for going today.

Swimming, intervals and steady state, 38 min. Distance: 1km. Eight intervals (freestyle one length as fast as I can, then gentle backstroke back) only took me 16 minutes, which I think means it's time to start increasing the number of intervals. I might add another two intervals to each interval workout this coming week, and see how I go with that.

Go you for making it to the gym today!

IMHE, this is the tough bit: not letting yourself crash and decide it's all a terrible failure and give up because you've had a rotten week, but going on and getting back into it. In the long term, one week of not very much exercise means nothing.

(But I'm sorry it's been so rough emotionally and hope that things improve soon.)

Go you for going to the gym! As mentioned above, going to the gym after a period of absence can be *really* hard.

Sorry it's been a rough week, and I hope the exercise endorphins helped.

Yesterday I went for my second-ever trail ride, 5.6 miles (a new record). I detailed my experience with fear on the ride here.

Today so far I did 40 minutes of lower-body strength training/stretching. I also walked 1/3 mile round trip to a local high school so I could show someone my bike. I biked maybe .4 miles around the parking lot to show off and practice starting and stopping.

I might take the dog for a walk later, he's looking dejected.

Morning yoga, barbell tiemz. I had limited time so it was pretty much ALL SQUATS AND BENCH PRESS, but I did manage to try for (and get) my personal record TGU. Though it was with a dumbbell not a kettlebell, and involved a lot of flailing legs.

Walked and jogged for about an hour around Lady Bird Lake. Didn't get run down by a bicycle, didn't step in dog poo. \0/!
