muck_a_luck: (Exercise Every Day)

Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I'm still here - well, again. Had a car accident that triggered a really bad arthritis flare. Meh.

Anyway, I just wet out running for the first time ever this year. And it didn't suck, despite the almost-two-months sports abstinence. I did two times 500 meters of slow jogging with 250 meters of walking in between and then another 250 of walking and 250 of a bit faster jogging.

Morning yoga, handstand moment of yay, then barbells in the evening, which was uneventful except that I did FIVE OVERHEAD SQUATS WITH THE OLYMPIC BAR.

Then I took a break, put 2.5kg on it, and did another one.

Biked 2.2 miles, drank a mocha cooler (because the ice cream place was closed, horrors), then biked 2.2 miles back. Interval-ish. (The route was a little too broken up to do intervals quite as planned, but I tried.)

Very gently trying to get back into things -- still lots of knee pain but I'm getting some better days now instead of all downhill. 35min of a yoga routine in Benagh's Stress Relief Yoga and my daily physio exercises from hell.

Spend the last four days (Thu to Sun) hiking. Thursday 14 km but not much height, and some crawling over boulders in an impressive rock garden. Friday 20 km with a 1000something metres hill (mountain?) with the most impressive desolation at the top (a Cold War listening post slowly falling into ruin). Saturday same distance, same height, different mountain (that one with an off-season skiing hut on top), and Sunday 15 km mostly downhill. Including getting lost in the town, trying to find the train station :-/

Most of the way was pretty easy walking, only about 1/4 was steep and/or rocky.
