Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Wights, 30 min. Only one set of split squats, as I was feeling fragile, and they're scary. Two sets of db rows, db bench press, and 60 sec plank. Tried 12.5kg for the db bench, failed after three reps and switched to 10kg.

Nice thing: there was a strong, fit, serious training looking guy on the bench next to mine, and his rows were only 2.5kg heavier than mine, for the same number of reps (I do 15kg for 10 reps.)

Morning yoga, then a bunch of shoulder mobility/stability stuff at home, all with pretty light weights -- a random assortment of TGUs, windmills, overhead squats, overhead presses, and a few attempts at a bent press (one of the lifts I really want to learn). Didn't feel like pushing anything too much.

ETA: OMG YAY I hopped up into handstand-against-the-wall with my feet together for the first time. Still can't get off the wall, but I'm working on it.

Shoulders & Arms, will do Ab Ripper X when I get home tonight. Still using lighter weights than usual (except on lying down tricep extensions where I actually went a little heavier; for some reason my elbow doesn't whine about those) because elbow hurty.

I'm still here. I've been keeping up with my martial arts training (which has evolved into a bit of everything, including intensive cardio), but was unable to do it last week do to RL issues. I did do some walking and will be going into martial arts class tonight.

Ran and walked my usual 3.7 mile circuit, then did crunches and planks. Front planks are now consistently 1 minute or more; side planks vary between 50 seconds and a minute depending on how I feel.

Feels like progress. :-)
