Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Morning yoga, HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT POOL OF WATER WHERE MY LIVING ROOM FLOOR USED TO BE.

In between wrangling plumbers, I got in a quick blast of pull-ups, overhead squats with the broomstick, and some shoulder stabilization stuff.

And I tried a cast wall walk for the first time (hat tip to whoever mentioned these; I Googled and went "hey, that looks like my kind of sick twisted fun").

My energy levels seem to be bouncing back again.

The other thing I ended up trying was the hand walk down the wall into a back bridge, but I don't have the kind of shoulder retraction/depression to get very far (without crunching my lower back). Yet.

That sounds cool. Somewhere in there, I got my boy-shoulders to open up, and I do a really good wheel. I've been working on Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana. Also, had a Ashtanga teacher explain the theory behind coming up to standing from wheel.

Yowza. I have good shoulder flexibility in some directions (e.g. gomukhasana arms), but I'm really inflexible when it comes to the scapular retraction and depression you need for wheel. Working on that. Tips would be appreciated! *g*

Half hour on the recumbent bike this morning, and squats with the barbell. Did I comment on yesterday's post? Yesterday was another half hour on the bike, and then 35 minutes of arm and back weights.

Eoin Finn's Power Yoga -- 68 min + 9 min relaxation. This has a bunch of levels and I did beginner levels on some/intermediate on others.

Have done various things this past week -- some days with lots of activity, some with <10min. Recurring injuries being all recurring and nasty.
