Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Yoga this morning, with a little bit of pilates thrown in, plus I walked to church and home again, which was a combined total of about 35 minutes relatively brisk walking (given the heat). Total of 6780 steps on my pedometer.

Next time (it will be three weeks before I'm back at Church again, due to other weekend committments), I really much think to wear a hat. Phew!

Kundalini Warrior Workout followed by bakasana practice. One liftoff in three tries; I stopped after that 'cause my thighs were pretty sore from the workout. More tonight maybe.

An a bit longer weight training session due to it being the weekend, and boy, am I wiped!

4 sets each of: 20 seconds planks (up from 15 seconds), 12 sit-ups and 12 back extensions.

2 sets each of 6 squats with 24.5 kg, 8 dumbbell rows with 12 kgs (up from 10 kgs), 10 bench presses with 19 kgs, and 12 flies with 4 kgs.

One of these days, I shall conquer squats - today was not that day.

after a week off (migraine & lingering effects) ..... had nice workout in the gym 1-leg SB curl, SB rollout, DB push press, BB RDL, BB Squats, SB jackknifes, Side-planks, followed by a 20 min walk home ( rather than the 2nd bus home) luckily there were plenty of shady spots along the way, it was a hot one today .....

After two weeks I finally finished the first week of my couch-to-5k program, and then I got more practice using the bouncy ball for core work. Tomorrow might be a rest day, especially if the rain keeps coming.

I saw two cool things on my walk, though. Lots of squirrels out and about, and a family of bright green parakeets swarming over someone's bird feeder.

Morning yoga, grocery-hauling, then an hour's slow yoga in the evening: I'm having a creaky day and wanted to see if I could work some of it out.

So today, I did exactly what I did yesterday. 30 mins yoga, 20 mins of weights then kickboxing from the Patricia Moreno DVD, and body blessing and freeform dance from Shiva Rea.

The only different thing was that I went into it feeling a little stiff after yesterday.

The result was completely different. Instead of feeling energised afterwards, 20 minutes after I finished, I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, and had to take a nap on the couch. My energy's been right down for the rest of the day.

I'm thinking perhaps two consecutive days of intense kickboxing training was a little much given that it's been a while since I've done anything similar. I only hope I can walk in the morning!!!

Yeah, I think I overdid it! But it's a lesson learned :)

Went to vinyasa in the afternoon. Saw some friends I hadn't seen in a couple months. Learned some good techniques for getting my shoulders right in inversions.

Automatically assuming aches and pains are the result of too little exercise rather than too much, that's a milestone, right? If so, I think I passed it. The aches and pains are not, by the way, from too little exercise; were that the case they'd go away when I started yogaing. Apparently the plank deal yesterday did a number on my arms. Ow.

Did 30 minutes on my stationary bike pretty early. I think I'll do another 15 before bed. That will be 300 calories burned total. =)
