Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I love treadmills. Walked three-quarters of a mile, nearly all of it at three miles an hour, and am feeling pretty damn good. My legs aren't so happy, though.

  • 8 shoulder presses + 6 shoulder presses with 14 kilograms

  • 8 butterflies + 10 butterflies with 3.75 kilograms

  • 4 15 seconds planks

  • 4 sets of 10 sit-ups

Morning yoga, grocery-hauling, then 45 minutes' vinyasa -- Day 1 of the Yoga Journal 21-Day Challenge. I don't know yet whether I'm going to do every daily practice or just dip into it, but it was pretty nifty.

I still seem to have some spare energy, so I may do something more before bed. Or not.

ETA: I have a new game! Turkish get-up up from the floor --> windmill --> reverse windmill --> TGU back down again. Repeat.

I can only do it with my lightest kettlebell (because of the reverse windmill), but it's a killer for balance and mobility.

Just my yoga yesterday. I looked hard at doing the Sports Active workout, but it was 10pm by the time I got around to it, and I just couldn't. But at least I did my yoga. It's going to take a LOT to convince me to do my yoga this morning before leaving for work, given that if I was going to do it I ought to already be up and at it...

What's looking like a nice Monday schedule. Morning: Shiva Rea's Solar Meditation, Water, and Lunar Meditation; evening, MTV Power Yoga (which I did with not problems today, other than one of those pesky old-lady heart-palpitation episodes, which is still going on, actually. Didn't cramp my workout though, go me!

Almost forgot!!

I did 30 minutes brisk walking today, which is a regular thing when I'm at work walking to and from the office from the metro station.

Also, 15 minutes yoga and 15 minutes strength training.

Rest day after 3 days of Vinyasa. I didn't work out enough over the holidays, and I'm feeling it, now. Just some gentle yoga and some dancing around the house.
