Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Great day? When sister and friends have been very loud pretty much nonstop for the past seventeen hours? HA.

On the flip side, yogaing relaxed me marvelously. And you know how the beginner yoga DVDs say not to go all the way up into down dog at first, keep the knees deeply bent then not so deeply bent then shallowly bent and only then straighten them? I just noticed I don't have to do that anymore. And on the lunges in the sun salutations, I can have my arms overhead no trouble, and triangle pose, I can look up instead of straight out. PROGRESS I HAS MADE IT.

Also, fifteen minutes of speedwalking laps around the kitchen, because I no get to go square dance tonight *sadface*. In socks, so my feet are unhappy, and there's an owie in one of the muscles inside my thigh, not a cramp, possibly a strain. Grand.

Power Yoga with Brian Kest, Level 2, smooth as silk - wonderful.

Standing pose practice: Dancing Shiva and Hand to Big Toe Pose, both feet, held for (at least) three breaths. Woo!

Yoga, plus some extra practice of muscle workouts to see if I could work out what I was doing wrong, a few balance games, and what the WiiFit calls Rhythm Boxing.

I can see that with the exception of the Yoga part of things - and I do like the Free Step where you can change over to the television - I'm going to outgrow the WiiFit fairly soon and move on to Sports Active more and more. But I do like certain parts of it, I really do.

55min, Kathy Smith Beginner's New Yoga (copyright on tape cover "1995", bought for $0.50 at thrift store still in plastic wrap). I thought it was a good beginner's version. Positions held long enough to feel some tension release, a good variety and adaptations for inflexible people.

Today's workout consisted mostly of raking leaves and cleaning the house. Followed by a modest walk and a handful of desultory pull-ups and dips and steps in the park. Plus about a minute's worth of plank. *ouchie*

Missed last couple of days postings - mainly walking with a bodyweight circuit thrown in as well ....

Nice session in the gym today DB presses, DB rows, chin-ups, pushups, delta raises

feeling generally in balance with physicality i f that makes any sense ....
