Before doing any yoga, I have to go through what
muck_a_luck suggests viewing as a cleansing ritual - sweeping up the gouts of dog hair. However much I try to make the procedure as a preliminary to my asanas, it still annoys me.
Anyway, lots of Rodney Yee, which I like because his DVD tends to get my heartrate up and involves slightly more cardio than others.
Another thing I did was keep the temperature in the house up. I have a friend who swears by 'hot yoga' in which the studio is 110° F, but that just sounds like an invitation to a heart attack to me. However, leaving the house a little warmer does seem like it also keeps my muscles warmer and I feel like I can sink further into the poses.
