Lookit meeee I did good!
Jan. 2nd, 2011 12:44 pmI haven't been posting/commenting much here, lately: very busy with my academic life, and it's been taking its toll on both the time I have to exercise and the time I have to talk about it. Anyway! I wanted to share some news with you.
At the start of the summer, when I started exercising and reporting it on this community, I weighed eleven stone (~70kg) and was not very fit.
Right now, I weigh nine and a half stone (~60kg), and while I'm not exactly able to run a marathon, do a gazillion press-ups, or anything else, I know that I am way more fit. For example, my twenty-five minute walk to university would have been accomplished barely within that time, and I'd have been hot, sweaty, out of breath, and my heart would have been pounding like mad. Now the walk can take as little as fifteen minutes (if I'm late and rushing: twenty-five minutes is still the aim just so I can enjoy a more leisurely walk*), and I don't get too warm or have any problem with my heart pounding. Breathing is still a bit of an issue, but it's much better, and I have asthma, so that isn't likely to improve as much.
*Which is still not that leisurely, why the heck did I choose to live in the middle of nowhere?
So I'm really happy, and really grateful for the support I've had here. ♥
