Today I did another sequence from Shiva Rea's Daily Energy, the Water+Heart+Air set. I'm not sure if I was doing exactly what she was doing all the time, but I was definitely doing something. And I actually managed to push up through my hands in Wheel pose! Not very far, and not for very long, but this is definite progress for me, a very good feeling.
A not-so-good feeling was the realization that grazing/snacking all morning and early afternoon =/= "empty stomach" - I've been queasy the last three Saturdays, and I realized today that's the pattern I've been following. It's easy to correct - just accept that I'll have to do my yoga first thing when I get up, like I do weekdays. (I'm writing this down more as a "note to self" than a grand revelation.)
The other thing I need to note today (this is starting to feel like True Confessions) is that I put in my goals for the October challenge, in addition to the 40 Days of Yoga, that I would meditate every day. That fell by the wayside after about Day 11 - that's the last time I remember actually doing it, other than where meditation is incorporated within the practice set. So I'm going to really make a effort to get back to the meditation part of the practice and goal. I did the Lunar Meditation on the Shiva Rea dvd and will most definitely include that each time I used the dvd - a nice calming close to the practice.
One more note to self: I want to try the Fire sequence later later today and see how close it really is to Agni Namaskar, the fearsome 108 Pushups set on the Creative Core dvd.
