Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post!

Fourteen people have signed up so far over at the October Challenge Declaration. The Challenge starts tomorrow! Let us know your plans!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

My shoulders are a little sore after yesterday on the crosstrainer, but its a good sore rather than the normal oh dear god will it never stop and pass me the vodka type pain.

Having a rest day, given that I'm running about helping organise three other people and trying to get ready for my holiday.

Did situps and yoga, this morning, plus a thirty minute walk. But the walk doesn't reaaaally count since I had to do it anyway.

Morning yoga, two hours climbing -- mostly very low-key because I'm still recovering from this cold, but I got a V3 on the steepest overhang that I've really been yearning after.

However, I managed to backslap off another problem (just what it sounds like: hitting the mat flat on my back, full force) which always gives me a headache, so I think I'll be taking it even easier this afternoon.

Didn't have time to do my morning run yesterday, so I did it yesterday afternoon. Two mile run/walk (heavy on the walk, but I did start to charge up after the first mile), followed by crunches, pushups, and stretches.

I'm pleased that I actually managed to do it, because, for me, "I don't have time now, I'll do it later" generally means I don't do it at all.

Did some power yoga for 27 minutes, at which point the poses got too challenging for me and I turned off the DVD. The next time I do this particular video, I'm going to try to find some ways to modify the poses so I don't just give up.

Ran at lunch. Paying more attention to my feet - the last time I ran, it aggravated my back, making my foot go numb.

That run was slow and long, so I upped the pace for a shorter distance. Found that at higher speeds I can get my shoulders back, hips down, and back straight, and feeling comes back into my foot while running. Huzzah! Of course, good form takes lots of effort.

Did some yoga afterwards to stretch and work my upper body (getting better at Pincha Mayurasana and handstand).

10 pushups, 10 situps. I'm a little sad that I didn't make it to 15 pushups again today, but glad that I at least did them. Eight lateral raises (10lb weights), triceps kickbacks, and biceps curls.

A long hectic day (and no opportunity to kick-start it with exercise this morning) so a resting day, with a 30 minute "Rejuvenate" routine, focusing on breathing. Exactly what I needed.

Stretching & skipping.

I am the worst skipper in the world. It's less exercise and more like a seizure with a rope. :p
