Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Did pushups and yoga. I've been working on my backbends -- I love backbends so much. Technically what I need to work on most is forward bending, but eehhh.

Pilates warm up this morning.

Running at lunch. Sigh - let myself get tricked by the high at 2 miles. But, quit at 2.5 instead of listening to the little, "But, I'm so close to 3 miles..." voice. A little surprised that I'm not getting winded after 3 months of not running - my legs are getting tired.

I think the vinyasa classes have kept my cardio capacity a decent level. Hmmm.

Anyway, a little yoga afterwards (backbends!), and I'm supposed to do some pull ups tonight.

Two mile run/walk, crunches and stretches. Going to have to think about getting some cold-weather gear soon. Meanwhile, loving being able to putz around until 10:30 am before going out to run!

The last two days have been rest days. Been feeling a bit blah as well as sore so I'm hoping tomorrow I'll make it to the gym.

Surfing was amazing, I will post about it properly as soon as I can, but I haven't been doing very well since I got back. I was really motivated to keep going with the exercise but did something bad to my back at the gym the day after I got home and had to rest it for a week before it felt OK again. Since then I have been finding it really hard to get moving again.
I finally found a great new site and did their bodyweight workout on sunday (www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle), then 20 minutes yoga yesterday evening. I meant to do the workout again tonight when I got home from work, but I sat down and never got up again. I am going to try to fit in some yoga before I go to bed now.
I keep trying to go swimming and bottling out. I finally figured out today that half my problem is the lack of support I have out here in the world, which is why I am commenting - you guys are amazing and I could really do with some encouragement to get me back in the groove.

I failed at my hour on the bike today. That is because, annoyingly, I have developed saddle sores. I know why, and will be making different clothing choices in future, but it's still annoying today. 30 minutes was all I managed. Tomorrow, we shall see.

Thanks! I had enough sense to stop when I realised, and I do have plenty of Neosporin on hand, so today was better, and I should be okay to go -- carefully -- tomorrow. In a skirt that falls around the saddle, and not the jean shorts that had wrinkles under me.
