I installed one of the apps on my phone, got myself up early and went interval training this morning.
30 minutes, 2.6km.
5 minutes warm up, then 1 minute jogging and 90 seconds walking for 20 minutes, with 5 minutes cool down. The app didn't run in the background so I couldn't seem to listen to anything else in the moment. A bit annoying, but I'll work it out.
Playing hockey (games on Sunday, training on Tuesday) I'm used to interval exercise. However, I'm also trying to improve my fitness, avoid getting injured on the field, and fit a bit more exercise into the regular week. Certainly I felt my core this morning and afternoon, and also I felt more hungry, like my metabolism had turned it up a notch. That's the benefit of exercise for me, not just the exercise itself but better health.
Anyway, three times a week it says. I'm presently debating whether to go tomorrow or not.
