Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Happy 4:13 am! Stupid cat.

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Just did my run. I really need to figure out what makes me sick after I run so I can stop doing it. (Spoke to a doctor about it casually, and she suggested how much and what I should eat before, how much water I need, etc, and so far that's helped but not stopped the problem. Blurgh.)

Especially irritating is that I'd been planning on a longer yoga practice today -- house to myself, no disturbances or curious staring sister! -- but I don't feel well enough. Maybe in a little while.

Edit: Did indeed feel well enough later! Did sixty minutes of yoga, my longest practice so far. Focused on hip opening poses, today, and managed half-lotus fairly comfortably. Also, managed a full forward bend in pigeon pose and could rest my forehead on the mat. I'm suuure I couldn't do that before.

yoga! 85 of 108 pushups today. I can really feel myself getting stronger.

upper body strength exercises -- tricep dips are especially hard for me, must work on those.

walk/jog for 20 minutes. am getting closer to being able to do week one of c25k!

Heh, life came along and hit me in the face, so this is the first day I've done PT since Monday. But I did it, so I'm going to stick to being proud of that.

Ran/walked 2 miles. I think it was two miles. I got interrupted by the propane truck coming to deliver propane and had to take a break while it was parked in the driveway. Then I couldn't remember whether I'd counted the last lap I'd done just as the truck arrived or not. At first I thought I had, but when I got to the one-mile mark, my time was way over what it should have been, so I decided I must have counted that lap after all and I was really one lap ahead of where I thought I was. So. Most likely 19 laps but possibly only 18.

I will be really glad when the new sport watch I ordered arrives!

Followed my run with the usual crunches and stretches.

Possibly running later in the day would help? Personally, I find that I cannot simply get up in the morning, throw clothes on, and go out and run -- I inevitably feel yucky during and after my run. I need to be up for at least an hour before I can run. I get up, do morning chores, then sit with a cup of cocoa and my journal and write for half an hour or so while my digestion kicks in, and then I go do my run, and I feel fine.

Also, I can't eat solid food before a run, it makes me sick. Everyone's body is different, so you just have to figure out what works for you.

Good luck!

I wait an hour before I run anyway... Get up, eat breakfast, wait an hour, run. But yeah, I'm working on figuring it out.

The pebble/jellybean counting system works -- as long as I remember to drop/eat one each lap. Considering how easily my brain is scrambled, I will undoubtedly forget now and then. And I will still forget when I've got a new watch, but at least the watch keeps track of split times, so I can go back and check whether I've got a split that's twice as long as it should be, and it will be easier to correct for my mental lapses.

Anyway, since I seem to be running again for reals, I decided I ought to celebrate with a new watch. :)

Do be proud of that! I always have trouble re-motivating myself when I've had to skip a day, especially when it's because life hit me in the face. Well done.

morning pushups again, they're fun! Long day at work so didn't manage yoga in the evening like I'd planned, which was annoying.
