Fitocracy?

I hope this is okay to post here... I recently started logging my fitness activity on Fitocracy: http://www.fitocracy.com/ Is anyone else here doing that - what do you think? I find the "gamification" (with point rewards and quests and so on) quite motivating so far.

Yeah, I noticed that, too :/ I'm not sure how good their Support is, maybe worth a mail? I don't even think gender is necessary for the site, so I don't see why it's a mandatory choice, but I may be wrong. Meh.

It would only seem relevant to me if they want to calculate BMI or something, given they say 'sex' not gender, meaning body-type? I might try emailing. Thanks for the invite, anyway!

I love it in theory but it doesn't really scale to my disabilities, which makes it frustrating. But a friend and I are looking into how to do something like an app that would accommodate us somehow.

And further comments to all contemplating Fitocracy --

I love it, but it is a very mainstream-fitness oriented site. Heavy lifting and lengthy hard traditional cardio are privileged. (Heavy lifting more so than cardio.) While there are comms that are open to all sorts of genders, ability levels, and fitness goals, a Body Weight Squat is still a trivial amount of points, no matter how much one weighs or how hard it is. (I can bench enough for nice points, but still get a token for Incline Push-Up, despite the fact that my Incline Push-Up is more weight than I can bench!)

Also, there has been, in the past, trolling on the Health and Every Size comm, and some on the LGBTXYZBBQ comm. The mods are SUPER responsive and very quick to ban people for trolling, but it's there.

Also, some of the comms self-list as competitive. They likely are. This includes a certain amount of genially-intended insults and name-calling in the comments. YMMV.

I'm there under weirdquark. The quests have gotten me to do some things I wouldn't otherwise have bothered with, but other than that it's another place where I log workouts and I don't use the social stuff that much.

I'm there, but have forgotten my username/password. (Yep, see how much I use it.) I think Health Month still suits me better overall, but I want to keep trying it a bit more.

Do you still have invites left? I was thinking the other day that I needed some sort of point-gathering system, so I'd love to try out something ready-made like this!
