semielliptical: woman resting on an exercise ball (fitness)
[personal profile] semielliptical posting in [community profile] exercise_every_day
Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (or someone else) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Big lifts today at the Y!

Warm-up 5 minutes rowing machine
Deadlift 145# 1 set of 2, then three sets of one lift each
Bench press ladder 65# 1/8, 75# 1/6, 85# 1/4, 90# 1/2. 90# 1/1 (I tried for two, got the bar halfway down, realized I wasn't going to make it, and shoved it back on to the rack as fast as I could), 85# 1/4, 75# 1/6, 65# 1/8
Body weight squats 2/5
Assisted plank 40 sec, then 20 seconds. I need to move plank earlier in my routine if I'm going to really increase time.
Farmer's Walk 45# dumbbells, 2/60 feet
Reverse curls 20# 8 each arm
Rowing machine intervals 5 minutes. I hoped for ten minutes, but I ran out of time.
Stretching on the bench poolside waiting for my kids' swim class to finish up.

Super excited about these numbers!

At con, so did a hotel room workout -- bodyweight overhead squats, pushups, and planks. Wanted to do some inverse rows, but the table in the room didn't feel like it could support my weight so I left those out. There is morning yoga offered at the con, which I missed this morning because of wanting to rehearse. (It's a filk convention and my a-capella group wanted to perform something new which we hadn't practiced together due to those of us at the con living in different parts of the country.) Yoga wants you to bring a mat, which I do not have, but I'll go by tomorrow and see if they have extras or if they'll let me join in without one.
