Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Still got the horrible cold, but managed some morning yoga at least.

Having to remind myself that pushing myself and going climbing when I'm feeling this wiped would be a bad idea.

Yesterday was the first day back at the Y after about two weeks of a nasty cold and cough. It wasn't as bad as I'd feared. Twenty minutes on recumbent bike, then weights, then stretching. Nice.

CrossFit. I still feel like I'm recovering from last week's sickness, but things went a lot better tonight.

And I learned the Turkish get-up! It's not a party costume, it's a...a...a thing that I did a bunch of times with a 12 kg kettlebell, and I'm pretty sure it's going to leave me exquisitely sore in places I never knew I had.

And there was something called a "dolphin burpee" which is like, WTF?

And some sit-ups.

Sciatica twinging almost unnoticeable this morning; did stretches that are supposed to relieve pressure on the nerve this morning because it can only help. Some heavy weight-low rep lat pull-downs at the gym, more sciatica stretches, dance class. There was only one moment when my body was like, no, done with doing that on this side, but luckily, we were, so I was able to just move on to the next thing. And the sciatica twinge was on my left side, and when we did routines we mostly we balanced on the right, so that was okay.
