Hey, EED community!

Back. Wishing I had a couple million bucks to plunck down on a beach house. :) Thanks to [personal profile] willful_zephyr for his help over the weekend!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I'm still sick (scary sounding cough and general tiredness), so not much today: About 20 to 30 minutes of stretching and weigth lifting.

Morning yoga, Iyengar class. The teacher is teaching us how to transition straight out of halasana into downwards dog, which (even with assistance) is the most terrifying thing ever.

45 minutes in the pool and back exercises.

Ashtanga - about an hour.

I actually got my hair to the ground in Prasarita Padottanasana - I was like half-an-inch from getting all the way down!

Santana was playing at the time, so the cats got to see (be frightened by?) the celebration dance.

In other yoga achievements, I finally figured out Eka Pada Bakasana from plank. Woo hoo!

Aiiee. You put your hands on the ground by your head (as if you were about to go into wheel), don't bend your knees at all, and push up with your hands hard. At the moment, it's with the teacher looping a belt round your hips and giving a helpful yank, and it's still scary.

I'm not quite sure what I'm afraid is going to go horribly wrong, but it definitely feels like something could! *g*

There is an Ashtanga transition where you go from on your back, up over to halasana, pushing yourself up to standing.

With lots of warning about what you can do to your neck if you screw it up.

I've never seen a prep-move for it, but it sounds like what you are doing would work.

30 minutes of weight training. Gosh, so wiped (it's always pretty bad after work - so much easier on the weekend - and I even adjust the weights a bit to counter my fatigue)
