Morning yoga, barbells. Out of curiosity, I tried Dan John's unholy front squat/Tabata hybrid (do 8 fast front squats, rest 10 seconds, repeat for 7 more rounds), using just the bar. All I can say is that it'll be nice when I can feel my quads again. Not quite as lung-scorching as Tabata sprints, but not bad.
I did some work on my deadlift, which feels unloved, then finished up with a spectacular fail when I tried for one overhead squat too many.
(With lifts like that, the escape tactic is to throw the bar one way and yourself the other way as hard as you can, so it was LOUD. ETA what I didn't make clear, that I am pleased by this fail; it proves I can flunk the lift massively without being hurt, and a good fail lets me know that I'm working at my limits.)
