Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.

1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Morning yoga, two hours climbing.

Reporting in advance for the next three days as I will mostly be AFK: rest day, climbing trip day, climbing trip day. Wish me luck!

7 km bicycling, NRoLfW stage 1 workout 6a. Then, when I wanted to do my after-workout-stretching, I stubled into the "back and abs workout" class and thought I'd try it out. I *nearly* made it through.

Body weight exercises, then an abbreviated Ashtanga primary series. Held headstand for twenty breaths, and came down with control.

Mixed experience at crossfit tonight. The strength portion -- practicing the sumo deadlift -- seemed to go OK. But the timed workout fell apart when my right knee decided not to cooperate whenever it was required to bend deeply (which was for 2 of the three exercises). So I skipped the dumbbell thrusters and burpees, and did kettle bell swings and pushups instead, and I went from a tall box to a low box for the box steps.

Now...I should be happy that I got a decent workout in spite of the hiccup, and I should be happy just to take advantage of the opportunity for a few days' rest while I let the knee recover. I don't think it was a major issue, just that early warning twinge that says, "Stop now if you don't want me to become a major issue." So I'm stopping for a few days, and I'm sure I'll be OK next week.

But fuck-a-doodle-doo, I may be a lazy bum on the best of days, but I do not like being forced to stop. And my reaction right now is the kind of roiling, boiling, violent but frustrated rage that characterizes the bourgeois milquetoast who knows he's going to do the right thing in the short term but who fears that any break in his routine will lead to a swift spiral into despair and self-loathing.

Pout. Bitch. Moan. Me and my first-world problems. :-/

Walking and yoga. A twenty-five minute forward bending practice. I'm so not good at forward bends.
