Sunday, January 2, 2010, Check-In
Jan. 2nd, 2011 06:49 amHey, EED community!
Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!
If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.
1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.
2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.
3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.
4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.
5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

Date: 2011-01-02 04:51 pm (UTC)I have modified my 'program' a bit, so it now includes bench presses, dumbbell rows, squats, deadlifts and back extensions. Both the deadlifts and the squats are killing me...
The plan is to lift weight 6 times a week until I feel the weather is adequate enough for me to start running again.

Date: 2011-01-02 06:19 pm (UTC)40 More Days of Yoga, Day 40
Date: 2011-01-02 08:11 pm (UTC)What I learned: that my practice is my practice, not Rodney's; that I didn't have to compete with him or myself. Once I came to that realization, each day's practice fell into place seamlessly. By the final five days, my practice had achieved near-perfection (for my definition of perfection, which didn't really have to be as stringent as it was when I started, but which evolved, like I did.)
What's coming up tomorrow? I still haven't decided. I want to get back to my elliptical machine, which has been patiently waiting for me all this time. I'll want to do something in the early morning to stretch out - I think Shiva Rea, and probably some Ravi Singh and Ana Brett will be good for that. I have Brian Kest (who talked and talked but really made so much sense) and the MTV Power Yoga kids for when I come home ready to blow off stress. And lovely, mellow Barbara Benagh. More journeys lie ahead.

Date: 2011-01-02 10:45 pm (UTC)Yoga, and then a five minute muscle strengthening workout which just about killed me... various balance games... I did enough to get recorded as having done thirty minutes, it's just that I can't remember all of what it was. But I'm definitely feeling that muscle strengthening workout today.
For the first time my WiiFit age is younger than my actual age, so I'm feeling like that's an acheivment.
