Same Fluid Power - Hip Opening sequence from Monday, except today I did most of the Fluid Backbend Flow as well.

Also, before my shower, I used the closed bedroom door to do a half-handstand to start getting the feel of having my hips over my shoulders.

I swear, along with being 132 pounds and 28 inch waist when I turn 40, I *will* be able to do a handstand! (And hopefully 100 pushups!) :D

Just for funsies, I'm about to do the test for 200 situps. UPDATE: And the number was 40.

UPDATE to July 29: Just to round out the set, I did two sets of 10 x 60 degree pushups. Arms not too bad today, though this morning's sun salutations should make *tomorrow* a joy. I'm thinking Bollywood, or possibly Trance Dance, or maybe just a little writing tomorrow morning...

My back is starting to protest my walking. I have uneven hipbones and the walking makes my bursitis and lower back arthritis flare up. :( Going to skip the walking until Sunday or Monday and see how my back feels.

I did two sun salutations this morning, trying to focus mostly on getting the breath thing right, then 40 minutes of a yoga video. I couldn't hold the poses very long, so there were lots of breaks for me while the people in the video held them much longer. New goal is to be able to keep up with the people in yoga videos! I wonder how long it will take me to reach that goal. Hmmm...

I have strength training exercises to do later. Six exercises, two sets each. And I might do more sun salutations and work on holding the poses. I really like it.

Taking a rest day today because I ended up in after hours care last night passing a kidney stone. I am incredibly sore today and have some nice pain pills and antibiotics that are leaving me this side of zonked.

It's sad, I had plans to do a really decent walk today...

Yesterday!

Just a tiny post to say, GO US! Yesterday, of the 17 people who I'm counting as "active" participants in this community, 12 of us exercised yesterday! From therapeutic stretching to vacuuming to angry walking to heavier, more traditional workouts! Whoo hoo! (Though here's to less *need* for angry walking! :D )

Also, I'm thrilled to report that our little group has now guilted several people into maintaining dragging workout schedules. These kind people chose to phrase it as "accountability." :D This is the kind of thing we at management like to hear!

Walked a lot!

Today I walked a lot - nearly three miles! :D And that was just work related stuff! (The actual tally of miles walked was 2.82, which isn't too shabby) I may take another walk tonight, when my fiance gets home.

Does heart-pounding terror count as cardio?

PT appt accomplished! I have homework to do, exercises and stretches and things, and will go again next week. She hardly hurt me at all, listened when I talked to her about Fibro and pain issues and respected my boundaries (and she was tiny and pleasant and totally non-threatening.) There was a male intern who tagged along and observed, which made me uncomfortable, but I thought I could allow that as long as he didn't touch me; now I think I'd have been more relaxed and could have done more if he hadn't been there, so I'll request that he not be, next time. So I won't be doing anything like push-ups for a bit, yet, but I do have a place to start and guidance, so maybe I will be, soon. I can do cardio and stretching and leg strength, until then. She also suggested pool work--I'm going to think about that.

Introduction post!

Hi all! I found this comm through [personal profile] rydra_wong's Follow Friday post, and I am excited. Right now my major exercise goal is to do every single one of my physical therapy exercises every day, so that one day I can do the running-jumping-climbing-trees kind of exercise I used to prefer before my knee went wonky. In the meantime, I'm also hoping to add in some exercises that don't involve knees at all, if I can find them - though only after I get the PT habit well-established. Hi!

Lawn's mowed. Legs hurt. I'd be calling tomorrow a rest day except there's a neighborhood yard sale and I kinda wanna see what's getting sold.
