I Am Very Pleased To Announce

I got the Asian squat!

Heels to the ground, baby!!

Also done running - 15 km tonight - and I'm figuring out what works for me is singing. With music. No, it does not sound very nice. Strangely, ingressive speaking helps me keep pace and breathe. The Finns might be onto something.

3.5 km On Elliptical

//confetti//

I formally confirmed that exercise-induced asthma was NOT the problem, and it's just poor lung conditioning.

Ran 0.5 km and took a break because weird left thigh cramps. Don't know what was going on there.

Went back at it for the rest of the 3 km (ish, the machine got confused and restarted so I lost some distance in there). Took water breaks but otherwise ran straight through. Probably did the recommended 25-30 mins of daily cardio for the first time ever.

This is an accomplishment after having to start at Level 0 in C25K, and then use the elliptical because leg strength and cardio are NOT in unison on this one. I can run! Woo!

//confetti//

(I also did some stretching and kettlebell exercises)

Cardio

Minor victory: Did cardio via elliptical machines yesterday. Got 8 mins, thereabout?

Over four laps. Not sure if they're measuring in portions of miles or kilometers - no units on the machine. It's a mystery. The 'speed' was also baffling, I'm going to have a closer look at the numbers and try to run a search for answers later.

It's small but progress. Going to try again today.

The trick seems to be (1) being upset, and (2) stressed out playlist.

Pushups

Went extra hard on my pushups yesterday! Did a lot and tried going lower than usual. My abs hurt really bad today.

Today instead of getting a ride home from work, I took a 30min walk home.

Strength + cardio today; maybe a walk tomorrow. How's your weekend looking?

Exercise Check In

Aerial hoop practise this week. My thighs have been tenderised, and my shoulders are still feeling it.

Can the community give/enable tags for individual journals? Those really help for tracking progress and finding one's own posts. :)

Check-in Aug 17

1 hour of strength training and about 2 hours of kayaking. Which would have been quite leisurely, only I did not know the river and had not done any kayaking for ages, so it was very dramatic. Fortunately, the rental kayaks forgive nearly everything.

Check-in

3 hours in the boulder gym. None of us felt very energetic, but some tops were reached and some tricky start positions solved.

Plus, walked about half an hour in the heat and then rode an electric scooter home for another half hour. The latter is probably not exercise, but it felt that way.

Check-in

Swimming today, 500 metres, 20 minutes.

First day in two weeks or more where the weather was more like late spring than like mid-autumn. \o/

Check in Aug 5th

Can one be to busy to check in here?
Anyway, today: Went to the boulder gym with friends for most of the afternoon. I accomplished nothing special, but it was fun.

Check-in Jun 29th

Swimming today, first time since last August.
Only 300 metres, but if the shoulder is fine tomorrow, it's a start.

Found that swimming (breast stroke) uses very different muscles from bouldering and the strength training / physical therapy exercises I'm doing.

Also booked five more sessions with the personal trainer.

(no subject)

Last August I badly damanged my shoulder, swimming, of all things. Repetitive motion and cold-cramped muscles triggered an inflammation of the joint (which is already damanged, long story), it took 3 months to get it treated, and since then I'm trying to get back range of motion, easiness of motion, strength, and get pain free.

Half way there, I think. I'm currently working with a personal trainer, doing PT exercises 5 days a week, and I'm back to bouldering and bicycling, though not yet swimming (I'm scared) nor weightlifting.

Also, due to another health issue, I am still suffering from fatigue. Everything takes more energy, and I get tired a lot faster than I used to. It is very annoying.

Today, I did my PT exercises.

Morning workout 3/16/21

I worked super hard in the garden on Sunday. My fitbit called it "biking"

Yesterday, I slept through my alarm and did not work out.

Today: 18 minutes on the treadmill at 2.6mph.
Standard Core and PT exercises.
