November Challenge Announcement Post

Good morning!

I'll be putting up the October Challenge Report post on November 1, so everybody can talk about how their October challenge went, but the time is here to start deciding on your self-challenge for the month of November!

So!

Challenge yourself for November! Find a fitness goal that you want to achieve, that you can achieve, with diligence, in one month.

Declare your goal by November 1, then on December 1 we will have a roundup of how we all did!

The goal can be simple, like being able to run a mile by the end of the month (even slowly!).

It can be progressive, like moving from wall pushups to floor pushups.

It can be process oriented, like trying to exercise 25 of the next 30 days.

Try to make it something YOU want that is challenging but doable.

If you want to participate and you just can't think of anything, check out what everybody else posts, then copy somebody! :D

I also offer a generic challenge: Achieve 20 pushups in a row at 45 degrees or lower.

I think mine will be to walk for at least half an hour six times a week. Will allow myself a lazy day, and most days I'll walk anyway to get to lectures, but I want something to get me out even on my off days.

I'm going to do-over my October goals; I was finally dismissed by the PT (set free! Released into the wild! Yay!) with some new exercises, so that's where my focus has been. I want to go back to the pushups and crunches, now. I'm still working on finding the best position to work my lower abs--that's always been really hard for me. Not hard to do, hard to find; my upper abs always get all the work. Something to do with my two C-sections? I don't know, but it's inconvenient.

Be able to walk three miles by the end of the month. Also, remember to check in.

1000 minutes in November - that's an average of 34 minutes a day... but probably more like 30 minutes a day with a several hour long martial arts practice every other week, or uhm, something.

Since the work on Royal Pigeon is definitely progressing but obviously has room to go further, I think I'm going to keep the same challenge for November.

I will continue with my October goal of exercising every day for at least 30 minutes, and adding that this will include exercising first thing in the morning at least 4 days a week.

Be able to work a kip or two into my pull-ups without rotator cuffs getting cheesed off.

and if I get a chance to work on my DL again, max out an extra 10-15 pounds above 1.5xBW.

I'll be finishing up with my 40 Day Yoga Challenge, and my main goal for November will be to continue to exercise 30 minutes or more at least five times a week. :)

I caught the flu on the first of October and could barely move for about a fortnight. Once I felt better I just couldn't get back into the swing of things, so I barely moved at all in October - not what I had planned.
I just made an appointment with my trainer for wednesday to get a program written and get back into the gym, so I am going to attempt 3 days a week in the gym, plus I am determined to start swimming again - aiming for once a week. Let's hope November is a better month than October was.
