Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I've, in the past few days, been trying to get back to doing some form of exercise in the morning. This is the first time I really have anything to report, since the past few days I've been coaxing my body to streeeetch after stiffening up from tension, and not much else. Still, this morning, yoga and pushups. It's a nice day outside, so I might go for a walk.

Did this yesterday, but just now have the chance to post it.

Pilates - 56 minutes to be exact.

Weights (using 3 to 5 pounds dumbbells) - I don't know how long this took, maybe another 40 minutes? I stopped for a few minutes after each one, had some water and stretched a bit.

squats (76 reps plus pulsing)
lunges (front/back, 94 total plus pulsing)
chest presses (64 plus pulsing)
bent leg deadlifts/deadrows (30 deadlifts, 54 rows plus pulsing)
pushups/rotator cuff (45 pushups, 32 rotator cuff)
tricep dips/french press (24 dips, 56 french press)
bicep/hammer curls (46 curls plus pulsing, 36 hammer curls)
one leg squats/wide squats (44 one leg plus pulsing, 38 wide plus pulsing)
overhead press/lateral raise (34 overheads, 28 lateral)

Fat Free Yoga (boy, do I hate that title) with Ravi Singh and Ana Brett. I love the Kundalini sessions, though - I have three of their dvd's now. Such a great change from the vinyasa flow yoga I do four other days. Though the Kundalini seems less strenuous than the power yoga, I always feel deliciously wibbly-wobbly afterwards, cleansed and refreshed.

Weight lifting again. That makes it 6 days I have exercised this week (counting the 3 hours cleaning yesterday, which I totally do) \o/

Today's program, providing I am right and my barbell weighs 12 kilograms and my adjustable dumbbell bar weights 2 kilograms. 2 sets each of

  • 8 bench presses with barbell + 7 kilograms (=19 kilograms?)

  • 10 deadlifts with barbell + 10 kilograms (=22 kilograms?)

  • 12 calf raises with barbell + 10 kilograms (=22 kilograms?)

  • 12 back extensions

  • 10 dumbbell rows with dumbbells + 8 kilograms (=10 kilograms?)


Yes, I really need to weigh my equipment...

Today I did 20 minutes yoga, 20 minutes with weights, and ten minutes on my stepper at a steady, brisk pace.

I look forward to checking in here regularly from now on :)

Morning yoga, then there was actual sunshine so I went and walked in it for an hour. Now going to do some more yoga to wind down before bed.

Yoga, with a slightly altered routine which now lasts 16 minutes. A bunch of balance games on WiiFit which probably shouldn't count, but I'm counting anyway, and then half of the "easy" 20 minute workout on Sports Active. The kick ups halfway through killed me though, and then it was dinner time (yay for good time planning - not!) and we changed the TV over to the Matt Lucas Les Miserables special, and I never got back to it after that...

Maybe I should take the kick ups out of that workout next time I try it. They really are rather ridiculous - and impossible.

4km walk + 25min relaxation yoga tape. Sore from shoveling yesterday.
