Hey, EED community!

Here is your daily check-in post! Hope everyone is having a great day!

If you are posting for the first time, or new to the community, please review the community's standards, below.


1. Mod (that's me!) will post a Daily Check In post, for those who prefer to note their daily activities in response to a prompt. Please only place exercise comments here.

2. All members are encouraged to post daily independent posts about their activities, if they prefer that to a prompt.

3. Please place any NON-EXERCISE comments in independent update posts and behind a cut. Some people are sensitive to discussion of diet and nutrition. That is integral to many people's exercise activities, so I want members to be able to discuss that, but for those who are here strictly to log exercise, I would like them to be able to avert their eyes.

4. Everyone is encouraged to introduce themselves, discuss their exercise goals, and post updates on their activities. "I finally made it to running a mile!" or "I kicked up into handstand today!" are updates that we all want to hear about and share! Please put long posts and entries involving diet and nutrition behind a cut, though.

5. Aside from intro posts and injury announcements, please try to include an exercise update in every post.

I did 15 minutes of yoga. This makes the seventh day in a row I've done fifteen minutes of yoga!

Really gentle yoga or another type of stretching, maybe? But only if you feel it'll make you feel better to move a bit; when you're acutely ill is not the time to be pushing it, since your body is using all its energy to recover and can't handle any extra stressors.

I feel like I need to do something. I've just seen Yogatic's class against headaches, so... I'll see if it's gentle enough.

15 minutes of yoga this morning, and just did 20 of free step tonight, while watching Hogan's Heroes, with hand weights.

Couple sun salutations. I think I did them both on the same side, but I'm not sure, which is why I stopped: if I'm fuzzed enough I can't tell left from right, I should probably not be doing anything that requires telling left from right.

On the flip side, I was confident enough on the lunge in the second round to have my arms overhead. And I did not wobble at all.

I did 45 minutes of cycling at about 12 MPH last night, and now I'm driving home on my lunch break to do another quick 15 minutes today. (More than 15 and I get awfully sweaty..heh)

Hopefully, I can do another 30 minutes tonight as well. Or at least that's the plan. =)

30 min of a "Pilates for Abs". Did about 90% of the exercises, so happy about that.

Been a vacationing slug (except for lots of walking and some snowball fights). Work has been rudely intruding on my workout time. Got back into the groove today with a Pilates class over lunch.

Morning work: short elliptical machine session.
Evening work: "Strenghth and Balance" workout from Barbara Benagh's Power Yoga for Every Body. Strength: good; balance (as always) needs work.

I did my hour-long walk today, but I decided to spice things up a bit by starting a couch-to-5k project using Robert Ullrey's podcasts.

Starting CrossFit has shown me that in addition to having a body that's in a state of general flabbiness, my aerobic conditioning is completely shot. CrossFit twice a week will help, but I don't think it'll be enough. Hence the running.
